GettysburgYou marched into the starry night,  prepared for war beneath the moon.  You always fought for what you believed to be right,  knowing death could come to you soon.   
Morning arrives and brings the sun,  and you are prepared to fire at blue.  You gaze down the barrel of your borrowed gun,  for every shot you take brings freedom closer to you.   
Across the field, your brother sees  a Confederate boy behind stone.  But you take aim and fire through the trees,  and now that Union boy is gone.   
At the battle's end, one soldier finds another...  a Union boy, shot in Gettysburg

Withering DreamI know I’m lost as I walk around…patiently and slow.   
In this world, familiar but new,  I have no idea where I’ve been or where to go.   
I’ve walked for miles without a clue.   
I’m lying beneath a set of blackened trees,  staring up at the cloudless crimson sky.   
Listen to the gentle rustle of the leaves,  hollow and haunting; a chilling sigh.   
The moon shines dully above my resting place,  yet the darkness reflects no light.   
Shadows whisper gently against my face,  as I stand and reach out into the night.

Safe In Your ArmsI'm running through the shadows, full of fear,  Terrified screams are all I can hear.  Here in this darkness, I'm all alone  being chased onto uneven paths of dirt and stone.  I hear his taunting, his laughter in my ear.   
And there you are as I hit the ground.  I'm almost crying; so happy to be found.  There's a smile on your face as you hold out your hand;  I feel your gentle warmth as you help me to stand.  I'm still afraid, but you keep me from turning around.

Hello, it's my first journal entry! I'm doing a Theme Challenge. For drawing, you know? Well, there's a hundred themes (100) and I can only use one theme for each entry. For more, see the rules below.

But, since I have no scanner, I'm going to try something different and write a poem for each entry. After 100 poems, who wouldn't be better at writing them, huh? :giggle:

Well, here's the rules:
